Spatiotemporal patterns of Amur leopards in northeast China: influence of tigers, prey, and humans

研究意义:
东北豹 (Panthera pardus orientalis)是世界上最濒危的猫亚种之一。这种稀有的豹与东北虎以及它们的猎物在人类主导的景观中是同域分布的。为了保护东北豹,了解东北豹的活动模式与其同域分布物种间的空间关系是很重要的,包括它与东北虎、猎物和人类活动的相互作用。
研究方法:
2013年1月至12月,在中国东北珲春自然保护区,研究团队使用163个红外相机收集到的数据,量化了东北豹、东北虎、猎物种类和人类干扰(如人类步行、车辆、家养狗和放牧)之间的时空重叠 (图 1)。

研究结果:
结果表明,豹在白天和黄昏时活动更为活跃,豹与虎的季节性时空重叠低于豹与猎物的季节性时空重叠。并且,东北豹显示处与人类活动之间较高的时间重叠,但空间重叠较低 (图 2-4,表 1)。

研究结论:
结果表明,东北豹与主要捕食对象之间存在弱的空间重叠和强的时间重叠。东北豹与各种人类干扰之间存在高时间重叠和低空间重叠,表明东北豹可以调整其空间分布,以尽量减少与东北虎和人类之间的直接相遇,并增加捕猎的成功率。
